Sunrisers Hyderabad achieved a historic milestone in the IPL by scoring the highest total ever recorded, smashing 277/5 against the Mumbai Indians.

Sunrisers Hyderabad made IPL history by smashing the Mumbai Indians for a remarkable 277/3 on Wednesday, breaking the previous record set by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013 with a score of 263/5 against Pune Warriors India.

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma led the charge with aggressive batting, notching up 62 and 63 runs respectively after being sent to bat first by Mumbai skipper Hardik Pandya.

Following their departure, Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen took over, continuing to pummel the Mumbai bowlers with relentless hitting.

In contrast to the individual brilliance of Chris Gayle's 175* in the 2013 match, Sunrisers Hyderabad's record-breaking performance was a collective effort. Head, Sharma, Markram, and Klaasen all contributed significantly, with each boasting a strike rate exceeding 150.00.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl against Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH made a couple of changes, introducing Travis Head in place of Marco Jansen, and Jaydev Unadkat replacing T Natarajan due to injury. MI made one change, giving Kwena Maphaka his IPL debut in place of Luke Wood. Both teams were aiming to bounce back after losing their opening matches.
