NBC polling analyst reports that Kamala Harris' previous 5-point lead has 'vanished.

Kornacki contrasted recent polling results with those taken after the first Trump-Harris debate, highlighting a shift in voter preferences. The polls now show Trump rising from 44% to 48%, while Harris has dropped slightly from 49% to 48%.

In one significant poll, Harris experienced a notable decline. Kornacki remarked, "There are some things that have changed, and I think this might be the biggest for Harris."

"We asked about basic image perceptions—whether people view the candidates positively or negatively. Trump's numbers have always been in this range," he explained, pointing to Trump’s 43% positive and 51% negative rating. "Actually, this is slightly high for him."

However, Kornacki emphasized the shift in Harris' numbers.

"Look at Harris—43% positive, 49% negative. Just a month ago, she was at 48% positive and 45% negative, which put her in favorable territory. That’s now completely reversed and is almost identical to Trump’s. That’s a significant change, especially in such a tight race."

He also referenced additional polling showing that only a quarter of families believe Biden-era policies are helping them, while 45% feel these policies are "hurting" them.

"And here’s an interesting twist," Kornacki added. "We asked people to reflect on Trump’s presidency and whether his policies helped or hurt their families. The results: 44% said Trump’s policies helped, while 31% said they hurt. The retrospective view of Trump’s presidency seems to have improved compared to when he was in office
